ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN MEDICINE

 ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN MEDICINE

  •  Now a days the practice of medicine is dependent upon technology i.e, clinicians using varieties of technology in diagnosing, treating and assessing the care to the patients.
  • Recently, the developments in medical devices & equipment , information technology and biotechnology are playing an vital role in diagnosis and treatment of various healthcare issues.
  • Technologies like advanced monitoring systems , comfortable scanning equipment and non-invasive surgeries are helping the patients to spend less time in the hospitals.
  • Integration of telehealth and medical equipment technology eliminates the stress of health-related travel .

  • Stunning images of vital organs are produced by CT, MRI and ultra sound machines.

  • Tumors are destroyed by teletherapy machines using invisible rays.
  • cochlear implant may restore hearing for deaf.

Biosensors and Diagnostics

Biosensors and Diagnostics: Pioneering the Future of Personalized Healthcare In the realm of healthcare, the intersection of biology and sensor technology has given rise to a groundbreaking field – biosensors. These miniature devices, capable of detecting specific biological markers, are revolutionizing diagnostics, enabling rapid and precise assessments of health conditions. In this comprehensive blog, we will explore the fascinating world of biosensors and their pivotal role in advancing personalized healthcare. Understanding Biosensors:  Definition and Functionality:   - Biosensors are analytical devices that convert biological responses into measurable signals, providing valuable information about the presence of specific molecules.    - Their core components typically include a biological recognition element, a transducer, and a signal processing system.  Types of Biosensors:    - Enzymatic Biosensors: Utilize enzymes as the recognition el...

MEDICAL ETHICS

MEDICAL ETHICS 1) Physicians must be committed to providing qualified medical care, compassionate and respectful of human dignity and rights. 2) Physicians must adhere to professional standards, be honest in all professional interactions, and endeavour to report to the appropriate entity those physicians who have defects of character or ability or who were involved in fraud or deception. 3) Physicians must abide by the law and recognize the responsibility to pursue those requirements in that are contrary to the best interests of the patient. 4)  Physicians must respect the rights of patients, colleagues, and  other healthcare professionals, and must protect the trust and privacy of patients within the limits of the law. 5) Physicians must continue to learn, apply and advance scientific knowledge, maintain a commitment to medical education, provide relevant information to patients, colleagues, and the public, obtain consultations and use the talents of other professional...

OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR

OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR An oxygen concentrator is a medical device which provides supplemental or additional oxygen to patients who has breathing problems. The device consists of a compressor, a sieve bed filter, an oxygen tank, a pressure valve, and a nasal cannula (or oxygen mask). Like an oxygen cylinder or oxygen tank, a concentrator provides oxygen to the patient through a mask or nasal tube. However, unlike the oxygen cylinder, the concentrator does not need to be refilled and can provide oxygen 24 hours a day. A typical oxygen concentrator can provide 5-10 litters (LPM) of pure oxygen per minute. How does the Oxygen concentrator work? The working principle of the oxygen generator is to filter and concentrate the oxygen molecules in the ambient air to provide patients with 90% to 95% pure oxygen. The oxygen concentrator’s compressor draws in ambient air and regulates the pressure of the supplied air. A sieve bed made of a crystalline material called zeolite separates the nitrog...
